Cordoba (Argentina), Argentina, Posada Las Perdices

Posada Las Perdices

In old Castilian, CANDONGA means Old Mule or Heavy Mule, referring to the animals that in the 1700s crossed the mountains loaded with goods, following the King?s Highway to the Upper Peru. The Chapel was built in 1730 and was devoted to the Lady of the Holy Rosary. CANDONGA is at the very core of the path that keeps the architectural testimonies of the Jesuit Enterprise. In 1941 Candonga?s Chapel was declared Historic National Monument by decree NA°90732 and, in December 2000, UNESCO named the Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba a World Heritage Site. The tourist project responds to the relationship between the human being, his habitat and nature. All of the rooms come into view from mother earth; its? walls made of brick and stone harmoniously shape themselves with the environment and build the space that naturally and peacefully shelters its? guests. Candonga Lodging is a rural project, located 1, 000 meters above the sea level, respectful of the environment, that combines peace and easiness, cultural and musical attractions (the latter performed with the GAVEAU grand piano), ecotourism and adventure; this is the place where guests can interact with a raw nature, not arranged or manipulated by man in any way, free of agrochemicals, surrounded by crystal waters, by both native plant and animal lives and by lots of pure and uncontaminated energy. Baskets full of crusty loaves of bread, grandmother?s style scons (argentine muffins), jams made from the fruit-trees and fresh milk from the dairy will wake you up every morning. Because all of these are pure truths pouring from the hearts, we do wait for your coming along with family or friends, while we continue to create the atmosphere full of details and comfort that will assure your stay to be one of the best experiences ever lived.

Only 50 km (31 miles) north from Cordoba City you find CANDONGA, the gateway to the Small Sierras landscape and to the history of the region. A land marked with the traces of the Jesuit Missions and sowed with picturesque chapels and farms. A land that offers the possibility to leave the noise behind and meet again the sounds of history and nature.
